Have you ever been lonely?

The apostle Paul is one of my favorite people in the Bible. Once I see Jesus and Joseph and Elijah in heaven, I really want to hang out with Paul. The revelation he brought forth in his letters has been my lifeline. His life has been such an inspiration to me. I can’t read II Timothy without getting emotional. They are his last words to his son in the faith before he is going to be martyred. And there are some powerful revelations in that book. This verse always gets to me:

Where are you sitting?

Have you ever seen the movie White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye? I love that movie. I love the part when they go to see the Haynes Sisters perform in Florida, and they start talking about their eye color. One is focused in on blue eyes and the other is focused in on brown eyes. They were both sitting at the same table, but where they were seated at the table determined which Haynes Sister they could see best.

Where you’re sitting determines what you see. So…where are you sitting?

These are a few of my favorite things…

I have lots of favorite things. My family, of course. I have a favorite book, a favorite song, a favorite singer, a favorite pair of jeans. There’s my favorite food, my favorite cookie sheets, and my favorite vacation spot. This time of year, sitting in the early morning with my tea and Bible and Christmas tree lights is my favorite thing to do. (It’s what I’m doing right now.) I even have a favorite miracle. Hands down, it would be Jesus. Start to finish…from His birth through His life to His death…Jesus is my favorite miracle!
