Mothers can get their kids to do lots of things. They might not like it, but they do it anyway. Most of the time my kiddos do what’s asked of them without complaining. But they are coming into those teenage years, and I have seen an eye roll or two lately. I love this miracle. This is the first miracle that Jesus ever performed. He turned water into wine. And secretly, I love that it was His mama that brought it up.

Nothing is the new something…
Many a time I have gone to the kitchen right around dinner time and thought, “Oh no…I forgot to thaw something out! 🙁 ” Now what? I have a house full of hungry people and NOTHING to cook. Anyone else ever been there? There is They have this really cool website that you can plug in everything you have on hand and it will tell you what you can make with it. It kind of makes something from nothing. And our God can take nothing and turn it into something like he did for this widow……
Your nothing is better than everybody else’s something!
Have you ever been facing something huge in your life? Debt? Sickness? Depression? Family problems? And then ever have anyone tell you what you should do about it? It worked for them, so you have to do it too, right? There are a lot of things I would consider “giants” in life, and we have faced quite a few in our day. You look at it and think….I got nothing! What i have is nothing compared to what would fix it. Been there. Done that. Bought the t-shirt and wore it for a while. Not fun!
What do you have in your hand?
I love to bake. I REALLY love to bake. Cooking…..not so much. But baking? LOVE! I call it therapy. It relaxes me. Before I can even start, I have to ask myself, “What do I have on hand?” I can’t really bake without the ingredients. God wants to do miracles for us, but He is asking us “What do you have in YOUR hand?”
