Praying in the Last Days

We are living in some interesting times, aren’t we? Prophecy is being fulfilled all around us, and God has a plan for this strategic time in history. He doesn’t need a perfect situation in which to move. What He does need is a church that’s praying and releasing His power.

For those of you who asked…….I was honored to be able to share this message a couple weeks ago, and I wanted to share it with you. There is a call on the church to pray for His plan to come to pass and His power to be released, and He has put some things in my heart to pray in these days. Will you join me?

What do you see?

We used to play this game at my grandmother’s house growing up where you would look all around and focus in on something, and then you would say, “Ridda Marie, Ridda Marie, I see something you don’t see, and it’s……white.” Or whatever color it was. Then everyone else would look around and try to guess what it was. And whoever won got to be “it.” Our words would describe what we were seeing. Is it a cloud? Is it a flower? Of course, if no one guessed, you got to be it again, so you always tried to pick some teeny-tiny small fleck of something only you could see. David shows us something about this in Psalm 57…

Lord, I can pencil you in next Thursday…

Do you have a favorite scripture verse? I have quite a few, but Psalm 27:8 in the NLT version is one of my favorites!

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”

But lately, my schedule seems to have hijacked my response, and instead of saying, “Lord, I am coming,” my response has turned into, “Lord, let me pencil you in next Thursday for 15 minutes!” Sad, but true. Between work, getting groceries, keeping up with the laundry, running kids to drama and track and youth and homework and dinner and, well, you get the picture……life has gotten kind of out of hand. And I was getting frustrated. I even tried getting up earlier a couple times, but it was like my daughter instinctively knew I wanted to be alone and just woke up too.

Leeks, Onions, Garlic, and God

I despise _____. We all can probably fill in that blank with at least one word. Some of us could probably give several examples. I’m pretty sure everyone in the Northeast would say they despise WINTER right about now. Can I get an AMEN? Longest. Winter. EVER! Bring on spring, right? So, what do leeks, onions, garlic and God have to do with despising?

There’s more to the story…

Have you ever had something bad happen that turned out to be something good? I think the term is “blessing in disguise.” We’ve probably all heard the story of the family who was ready to set sail for America from overseas. They had saved and planned for the trip for a long time, and then at the last minute, one of the children got sick and they couldn’t go. They were devastated and even questioned God. And then a few days later, they were thanking God for the sickness. Why would they thank for that…..
