When your heart is broken…
Nothing hurts quite like a broken heart. This always seemed a bit strange to me because a broken heart is not even a tangible thing. It’s strictly emotional. I broke my foot a few years back but didn’t know it was broken. I walked on it for 5 weeks before I finally broke down and had it checked out. It hurt. A LOT! Excruciating…But I’ve had broken hearts that have hurt a lot worse and a lot longer than that foot ever did. There isn’t a surgical procedure for that hurt. No pain pills. Nothing medically you can do. No doctor saying, “Four to six weeks of this treatment, and you’ll be right as rain.” What do you do when your heart is broken?
What? What? Why?
Prayer is one of my favorite subjects, and I was excited to…
It’s too late, Lord!
Have you ever set your expectation on something and got so excited about it…and then it didn’t happen quite like you thought? Or when you thought? Or how you thought? What do we do when He’s too late?
Where are you sitting?
Have you ever seen the movie White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye? I love that movie. I love the part when they go to see the Haynes Sisters perform in Florida, and they start talking about their eye color. One is focused in on blue eyes and the other is focused in on brown eyes. They were both sitting at the same table, but where they were seated at the table determined which Haynes Sister they could see best.
Where you’re sitting determines what you see. So…where are you sitting?
