Send the Rain

Anyone who knows me knows that I have some favorite things. Having devotions with my Bible, my journal, and a hot cup of tea on my porch swing is close to the top of my list. Hawaii is definitely one of my favorite places on this earth.

Ice cream is probably my favorite food. French silk ice cream on a sugar cone from Katie’s Korner – Ummmm….yum! (I might need to have that for lunch today. Just kidding….kind of.  Ahem…no wonder my clothes aren’t fitting anymore!)

But anyone who really knows me knows that prayer is at the tippy-top of my list, and teaching is right beneath it.

For some, prayer is just a ritual they perform, but they don’t see much fruit from it. No answers. No power. But the Bible says to do it, right? So we trudge through it.

But prayer is so much more than a ritual. It is an avenue that God ordained to release His power into this earth.

The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. (James 5:16)

I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been looking around and noticing quite a few areas that could use some power of God in them. Just look at the election coverage, and it’ll make you want to hit your knees. Or the national debt. Or almost anything relating to the condition of our government.

I can’t watch the news or read the paper or even scroll through Facebook anymore without these words coming out of my mouth, “Lord, we need a revival! Send the rain!”

You might need the power of God in a situation that’s a little closer to home. Like sickness. Or family drama. Maybe your finances need a little dose of the power of God.

So….I have an announcement to make……we’re having a prayer seminar here at our church in Warren, Ohio on April 22nd and 23rd. And we’re going to pray for the rain. And release God’s power.

We’ll have times of worship and teaching and then we’ll spend time in corporate prayer on topics such as the rain and revival, the elections and praying for governments, praying in the last days, and spirit-led prayer.

In October, when I started praying about this seminar, the Holy Spirit spoke something to my heart and I can’t get away from it….

“Culture can only reign where the church does not.”

And I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a little less of culture reigning and a lot more of the church being victorious! How about you?

I love several verses in the book of Daniel that I’ve been studying lately along these lines…

“Praise the name of God forever and ever,
for he has all wisdom and power.
He controls the course of world events;
he removes kings and sets up other kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to the scholars.
He reveals deep and mysterious things
and knows what lies hidden in darkness,
though he is surrounded by light.
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors,
for you have given me wisdom and strength.
You have told me what we asked of you
and revealed to us what the king demanded.”

(Daniel 2:20-23)

There is a God in heaven and He reveals secrets.

(Daniel 2:28)

There is a God in heaven. He reveals mysteries. He answers prayers. Hallelujah!

Nothing we face is impossible for Him. No national situation. No family situation. No sickness or disease. Nothing.

Please mark your calendars and consider joining us as we come together to release God’s power into this earth, into our nation, into our families.

If you’re traveling in from out of town and need hotel information, please feel free to email me at teawithtonil@gmail.com, and I’ll send you a list of local hotels and restaurants close to us.

We’re looking forward to a powerful weekend in God’s presence, in His Word, and in prayer encountering and releasing His power.

Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. (Zechariah 10:1)
