Come…

Just a little peek inside my journal today…..Lord, stir our hearts today…

The word for the day is come. Or more specifically Come to Me.

The word come means to move closer to the requester.

If you’re thirsty, move closer to Me, the River of Life, and drink.

If you’re tired, worn out, burdened, move closer to Me, and I will strengthen you.

If you need peace, move closer to Me, the Prince of Peace.

If you’re stressed, move closer to Me, and I will refresh your soul.

If you’re sick, move closer to Me and let My power flood your body.

If you’re sad, move closer to Me; My joy is unspeakable and full of glory.

If you’re worried, move closer to Me, the Living Word that strengthens your faith.

He is the answer to every question, the solution to every problem, the strength through every trial, the provider for every need.

He’s the grace that enables and the mercy that covers. He is the anointing that delivers and the power that breaks the chains.

He’s the shelter through the storm and my rock-solid foundation. When I’m close to Him, I cannot be shaken.

The woman with the issue of blood in Mark chapter 4 pressed in close. “If I can only but touch the hem of His garment.” You can’t do that from afar.

She pushed past the fears and the doubts and the crowds and the people telling her to back off. Quit. You’re not supposed to be here. She pressed through the weakness in her own body, desperate to touch Jesus. To get close.

Can you hear Him calling today? Can you hear Him saying, “Come to Me. Draw closer.”

It doesn’t matter how close you are, there’s always a closer. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve known Him and walked with Him…there’s always a deeper place of intimacy.

Lord, stir in us an unquenchable desire to come. To hear You calling. To move closer to the requester. To push past and press in and touch You. Help us to live a life of, “Come to Me.”

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.” (Psalm 27:8)
